Golden Rules
Age
The recommended age for this game is 16 or older. Black Shuck complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). You must be at least thirteen years old to join this game, or have your parent's written consent. This rule is strictly enforced.
Behaviour
Don't be a douchebag. Any kind of disrespect or harassment in general is unwelcome here, whether it be directed toward one of your peers or the game administration, in the form of rudeness, or name-calling. Respect the community and your fellow players.
Game Rating
Black Shuck does not have any set rating, though we generally cater to a 16+ audience. This does not mean that you may post whatever you damn well please. For example, while some swearing is alright, explicit pornography is disallowed. Please use your discretion. This rule may be changed or updated if needs be.
Activity
You may be as active or as inactive as you like on this site. However, people who are active on a regular basis will recieve more rewards and privileges.
Game Time
Black Shuck is timeless. It's a world forever doomed to repeat itself. When it rains, it rains at the exact same moment every day. While characters themselves are free to do things differently each day, the weather from Circle to Circle will always remain the same. Repeating itself over and over on a 24 hour cycle.
Character Bodies
Upon dying and entering Black Shuck, your character becomes what we call a Shade. A Shade is merely a shadow of what your character used to be when it was living. Shades are similar to what we'd call a ghost, but generally have more substance. They can touch, easily pick up and manipulate objects — unlike a ghost. During your stay at Black Shuck, your character will be given the opportunity to obtain and keep various forms.
Multiple Accounts
You are only allowed to have one account per person. On each account you may create multiple characters depending upon your account level.
No Shared Accounts
You may not share an account with another player. Your account is yours and yours only.
Bugs and Exploits
You may not take advantage of exploits or bugs found in the system. If you have found something that isn't working how it should be, please report it to an administrator immediately.
Cheating
If you are caught cheating (exploiting bugs, using cheat programs, scripts, automated page refreshers, or any other application that can potentially ruin the game for other players), we will freeze your account(s).
No Mini-Moderators
Unless you are an administrator or moderator at Black Shuck, it is not your duty to enforce the rules of the game. If someone is breaking a game rule, or you suspect that they may be cheating, please PM a staff member with your concerns.
Account Naming Policy
Types of names that will result in your account being frozen:
- Names that contain netspeak, chatspeak, or phrases. (1337 h4xor, Haywood Jablome, etc.)
- Names that contain profanity, something religious, political, that may otherwise offend or insult other members. (God, The Devil, Buddha, etc.)
- Copyright or Trademarked names of products, services, characters, etc. (Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, ect.)
- Names of celebrities, or famous people, past or present. (Hitler, Madonna, Matt Damon, etc.)
- Any other name that is deemed inappropriate by Black Shuck's Staff.
